So it has been Christmas break has come and is quickly leaving, however I thought it would be wrong to deny some of you of my deep thoughts of the break.
1. So my first thought lead me to doing some serious research, this research led me to laying under my Christmas tree and staring up at for more than an hour. Which has led to some comments from my family, I did this cause i wanted to know what a Christmas present. So here is my deep thought if I were a Christmas present, I would be really anxious cause I'm one those presents that someone bought right after thanks giving. So naturally one of the first one's wrapped just sitting there looking up through the pine needles looking at the beautiful Christmas light on the tree. Wrapped in a lovely green paper. Sitting, hoping, wishing and waiting for Christmas. Then the day comes when the family starts putting on the ornaments, "Oh man the time is almost here it is getting really close now, I can see the smiles on the kids faces cause of all the presents that have started accumulate around me." A kid picks me up and shakes me it hurts then he throw me back under the tree and he exclaims, " Suck it is socks again." I want to yell back " I'am not a pair of socks and I do not suck, I'am the t- shirt you saw at the mall with your mom and you forgot that you even said anything about it, you will love me you stupid boy how on earth could you think I seriously I'am pair of socks, I'm way cooler than socks bro." Then December 24 comes Christmas eve, I'm so excited for the next day I don't even go to sleep then all of a sudden a large old man dressed in a red suit comes bounding through the the living room and throws a bunch more present I try to shout to the fat man to watch it, but he throws presents on top of me now I'm virtually unable to be seen. Christmas morning comes with a fury of excitement, it is such a blur as wrapping paper flies all over as comrades go to the battle field beautifully wrapped being destroyed in seconds. Finally the baby doll that was wrapped and on top of my face is taken from under the tree. I'am finally revealed in all my glory, Then he grabbed me the boy who previously dismissed me as socks. He starts pulling the paper off, there I'am the true me, His face is all glow with joy as he see that I'm the shirt he has wanted for weeks the waiting is over.( wow it is weird, that this is what goes through my head after laying under a Christmas tree for a hour, I should never been left alone )
2. So over break God has taught me alot, alot about myself and others. The one thing he keeps saying though is he will never ever for what ever reason leave me. I know some of you know that well I don't trust people all that well. It is kind of one of my things. However I find it hard sometimes to separate these human characteristics with what is truth about god. However I kind of had this awesome moment this week where finally, I mean finally it clicked that God is always with me. So I'm going to try and set up the scene for you, It is 11:30 at night I'm driving home in the (703) for those of you not from NOVA (aka Northern Virginia) it means 703 means Fairfax. Back to the story, I had just been hanging out with some of my old friends, I was slightly disappointed because i felt like nothing in my life had really changed since the last time I had seen them, however it was in that moment that God moved in a huge way. So I was flipping the radio stations and bang I hit the Christian radio station. A song was on that I knew well, it was David Crowder "never let go". I have known this song for a while. I just sat there and listened and it was like God laid out my whole last year in front of me on the dash board, right there. (It was kind of Dangerous) He showed me spots that were rough times that were trying, times where I had run so hard from him that I thought he would never get me again. Then he blew my mind about how that whole time he was with me. I can't even begin to explain what it looked like, then the chorus started playing just saying over and over "You never let go, You never let go" So as I drove I began to just scream this at the top of my lungs I mean it was loud. I was just calling out proclaiming to him and to myself that he never will let go. Also that he never has, at that moment I wish i could explain how it felt I felt like i was driving to do battle. This was my war cry it was My Braveheart Call for freedom, I was just bellowing it the song could have gone for another five minutes I would have just kept yelling. In a way it was my battle cry, for this next chapter in my life. That no matter how he stretches me no matter what I go through he will forever be faithfully there. I know it is a simple thing to understand but to live it and know it, it is hard. We have all had people in out life that we have looked up to and they have failed and we let these things effect our relationship with God. What are the things, we have put upon God that are lies and not true? Also what is your battle cry for this year what is, your theme song?
