Good Sunday to you

So this afternoon I was driving, over to the local wendys to get lunch for me and my dad, as he prepared for small group later tonight. I have had alot wieghing on my mind the past two days just to set the scene for you. As I was pullling into the shopping center I saw this young asian man driving a minivan and waiting at the light to turn out of the shopping center. Ordinarly this wouldn't catch my eye but it was what this man was doing while he was sitting behind the wheel. This man while sitting at the red light had reached behind him and grabed a guitar from the backseat and proceeded to play rather vigorously while sitting behind the wheel. I mean this dude was jammin eyes closed, head baging and strumming. If the light had changed he would hav never seen it. I just thought man this guy is distracted, he should really be focusing.

Now this is where God slapped me in the face big and hard. So last night I had just been talking with a friend about maintaining focus in the time that lay just before me. So God gave me this young asian man in a car to give me just a beautiful, illistruation of what I was doing in my own life. I also dare to say that I don't just do this in my life but I believe we all do it in our live. I'm going to use alot of metaphores here so I hope you stay with me. So in this metaphor we are the asian man we are sitting in the car waiting to get to our destination or a goal or somthing we are hoping to accomplish a "point B". So we have wanted to get to this piont B since we can remeber but as we are going we notice something else in the car that has caught our attention. It may be a guitar, another person, somthing on the radio or just niose a DISTACTION Then we slowly get more focused on this distraction that if we are the asian guy we loos sight of the light the thing that brings about change, that allows us to make it to "point B" I would like to relate this light as God in our christian walk we should always be seeking to get deeper to grow in our realationship to got to "piont B". However sometimes when he is trying to grow us in patience while sitting at a red light and we say oh while i'm sitting here instead of focusing on what God wants me to focus on like ourselves, you know what I will focus on this other thing this guitar sitting in the car and jam out.SORRY You are mistaken keep your focus. So here is my challenge it has a couple parts. 1st What is your "piont B" currently in you christian walk, 2nd what is the red light what is God trying to grow, change or transform in your life. 3rd What is your distraction what is your guitar in your car. Tough questions, but I challenge and encourage you to take this personal analysis. I have done this, I will be honest I have a whole lot going on in my car. I really need to put the guitar back in the backseat, turn the music and realize where I'm really trying to go.

So it has been Christmas break has come and is quickly leaving, however I thought it would be wrong to deny some of you of my deep thoughts of the break.

1. So my first thought lead me to doing some serious research, this research led me to laying under my Christmas tree and staring up at for more than an hour. Which has led to some comments from my family, I did this cause i wanted to know what a Christmas present. So here is my deep thought if I were a Christmas present, I would be really anxious cause I'm one those presents that someone bought right after thanks giving. So naturally one of the first one's wrapped just sitting there looking up through the pine needles looking at the beautiful Christmas light on the tree. Wrapped in a lovely green paper. Sitting, hoping, wishing and waiting for Christmas. Then the day comes when the family starts putting on the ornaments, "Oh man the time is almost here it is getting really close now, I can see the smiles on the kids faces cause of all the presents that have started accumulate around me." A kid picks me up and shakes me it hurts then he throw me back under the tree and he exclaims, " Suck it is socks again." I want to yell back " I'am not a pair of socks and I do not suck, I'am the t- shirt you saw at the mall with your mom and you forgot that you even said anything about it, you will love me you stupid boy how on earth could you think I seriously I'am pair of socks, I'm way cooler than socks bro." Then December 24 comes Christmas eve, I'm so excited for the next day I don't even go to sleep then all of a sudden a large old man dressed in a red suit comes bounding through the the living room and throws a bunch more present I try to shout to the fat man to watch it, but he throws presents on top of me now I'm virtually unable to be seen. Christmas morning comes with a fury of excitement, it is such a blur as wrapping paper flies all over as comrades go to the battle field beautifully wrapped being destroyed in seconds. Finally the baby doll that was wrapped and on top of my face is taken from under the tree. I'am finally revealed in all my glory, Then he grabbed me the boy who previously dismissed me as socks. He starts pulling the paper off, there I'am the true me, His face is all glow with joy as he see that I'm the shirt he has wanted for weeks the waiting is over.( wow it is weird, that this is what goes through my head after laying under a Christmas tree for a hour, I should never been left alone )

2. So over break God has taught me alot, alot about myself and others. The one thing he keeps saying though is he will never ever for what ever reason leave me. I know some of you know that well I don't trust people all that well. It is kind of one of my things. However I find it hard sometimes to separate these human characteristics with what is truth about god. However I kind of had this awesome moment this week where finally, I mean finally it clicked that God is always with me. So I'm going to try and set up the scene for you, It is 11:30 at night I'm driving home in the (703) for those of you not from NOVA (aka Northern Virginia) it means 703 means Fairfax. Back to the story, I had just been hanging out with some of my old friends, I was slightly disappointed because i felt like nothing in my life had really changed since the last time I had seen them, however it was in that moment that God moved in a huge way. So I was flipping the radio stations and bang I hit the Christian radio station. A song was on that I knew well, it was David Crowder "never let go". I have known this song for a while. I just sat there and listened and it was like God laid out my whole last year in front of me on the dash board, right there. (It was kind of Dangerous) He showed me spots that were rough times that were trying, times where I had run so hard from him that I thought he would never get me again. Then he blew my mind about how that whole time he was with me. I can't even begin to explain what it looked like, then the chorus started playing just saying over and over "You never let go, You never let go" So as I drove I began to just scream this at the top of my lungs I mean it was loud. I was just calling out proclaiming to him and to myself that he never will let go. Also that he never has, at that moment I wish i could explain how it felt I felt like i was driving to do battle. This was my war cry it was My Braveheart Call for freedom, I was just bellowing it the song could have gone for another five minutes I would have just kept yelling. In a way it was my battle cry, for this next chapter in my life. That no matter how he stretches me no matter what I go through he will forever be faithfully there. I know it is a simple thing to understand but to live it and know it, it is hard. We have all had people in out life that we have looked up to and they have failed and we let these things effect our relationship with God. What are the things, we have put upon God that are lies and not true? Also what is your battle cry for this year what is, your theme song?

Joy

SO i must apologize for the doughnut theme i promise it gets better!!!

I was thinking about what brings joy. For me it is relatively simple to be joyous give me a doughnut or a ice cream cone with some sprinkles. But I really want you to think what brings you joy. What really makes you joyous to the point that you are ready to skip and sing. Like in the sound of music when Maria sings about her favorite things. Do You have a list of things that bring you joy. It is just a funny thing cause there are also things that so quickly steel our joy. (stupid Joy steelers)I Bet you lets say 5 dollars that you could come up with a list of things that steel your joy faster than a list of things that bring you joy. Just to list a couple of mine for example but not limited to, The weather, Peoples attitudes, someone saying something, Being wrong. Sometimes our joy can be stolen when we just have a thought of something from our past or something that could happen. I'm tired of it. I did a experimenter today with out meaning to but it worked. So I carried around a sugary tasty delight known as Doughnuts around and anyone i saw I offered them a doughnut. It worked i saw people laugh smile have some form of joy. Why is it that a gift of a doughnut could give you Joy. Well first they taste good and they give us sugar high. How can i create a Verbal Doughnut.

What would a verbal doughnut look like. Well it would fist need to be sweet and heart felt. However it would also have to have some sort of substance. Like something nutritious something that builds and encourages. Also something that give you that sugar high like the love being shown for someone else. Is it really that hard to give someone a Verbal Doughnut I'm going to say no it is not. Lets get real people we as Christians should be the ultimate bakers of verbal doughnuts. It is a practical way to show someone the love of Christ. I know sounds funny may even look funny the first couple times. I really challenge you to make a bakers dozen verbal doughnuts and spread them around see what happens. Some of you may say you do this already and that is great but i want to again challenge you to try harder to make it better to excel still more. So I will leave you with this scripture and a deep thought.

(1 Thessalonians 4:9-10
Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. 1And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more.)

Okay now it is time for a few deep thoughts.

1. What if you were a rock, would you be a big one or a small one, I think I would be kind of like I’am as a human small but dense compact if your will. I wouldn’t really be a rock but a good stone you know. What would life be like you would just kind of sit for a while and ants would crawl on you which I think would tickle, people would step on your face and that would suck and you’re a rock so you can’t even say anything. Or what if a worm moved underneath you, I would Bee like OOOOOOOHHHH stop that feels weird stop it you worm. Then maybe one day a kid would pick you up and throw you at his friend or through a window and you would get blamed for it. Like it was your fault you’re a rock like you just jump at peoples windows come on. Or maybe a boy named David would pick you and put you in a sling and blast you at this tall ugly dudes face and you kill him. Now you’re a murderous rock and your only option is to stay lodged in his head for life again not much of a existence. Or maybe you would be one of those really blessed rocks and you get picked to skip across the water I however would want to be such a good rock and skip like 10 times, I would mess it up by over thinking and trip over my rock self and just fall into the water with one great Plop!!! I would suck as a rock.

2. Okay so I heard this fact that Purdue chicken farms have started genetically engineering chickens to be born with bigger meaty, parts and with out feathers. I mean that chicken has got to look at his buddies and be like you look straight up delicious. I mean you don’t even have all those feathers, I can see how your going to cook up and girl you are looking good. Or dang we are destine to get eatin we can’t survive out side of this box. Or what if a normal chicken snuck in with these featherless chickens what kind of realization would that be. Your one of those chickens with no feathers you would just be like dang that is what I’m suppose to look like what the heck happened to me, my life sucks.

Eyes

So I was thinking deeply today and was reading the bible as well. First i want to share my thoughts about our eyes. Some people say they are the window to the soul. In old movies it was considered a talent to speak with your eyes. With your eyes you can say Whoa get away, ( I get that one alot) or "Prrr" come here tiger. You know what i mean . Our eyes are incredible, I was looking at the colors of the leaves and how they were all slowly turning and falling to the ground it was pretty schweet. The shades of green in the grass and I thought man God is really cool and his color pallet is really impressive. He also gave me eyes to take all this in.

However there was more too this I started reading out of Ezra (random I know) but I was reading chapter ten. It talks about all these men who had taken foreign wives and how that was displeasing to god. So I was thinking why did this happen then it hit me like a MAC truck. (those are really big in case you were wondering) That it was their eyes, eyes are a blessing and a curse at times they take in color and images but they are also gateways that we allow stuff in through. Hear me out please, We watch movies we read books all of which use our eyes. So I was on that track when I got it that We need to guard our eyes. You know like horses where those things so there sight must be fixed on what is ahead of them. I don't know how many of you are like me and can focus on anything but think about what you have been turning you gaze too. Girls, Guys, pictures, movies, stars, Music ect..... How ever when we do this we are like blind men. We have lost sight of what should be at the center of our gaze and that is Christ.

God Gave us these things called eyes yet we lack the wisdom to use them correctly. That is it on my serious note for today.

1. So this is why I won't make it in jail. Those of you who know me know that I have a tendency to be on the scared side. Yes we all know when i peed my pants cause I was scared. So lets picture this me with my very jumpy bladder in a jail cell with scary people all around ah not the greatest situation I would be doing laundry at least every other day. The jail might also decide to fit me with some sort of a diaper system. Which would be okay but I feel like most everyone would make fun of me and give me nicknames like "Jail Baby" "Baby Buns" "yellow pants" "the guy who pees all the time" just not good stuff also if you know that would hurt my feelings and make me cry. Also not good things to be doing while in jail. My last point I'm not the biggest guy out there and well I feel like the big guys would look at me and just laugh. I would shudder they would laugh. I also like to think I'm a really friendly guy but some people in the prison system mite take that the wrong way and assume I'm a little light in the loafers.(If you know what I mean).

If you have any suggestions on what i should think on let me know!

First Deep thought

Well here it is I decided to start a Blog not sure who will actually read it but we will see. So my first post I thought I would entertain you with some deep thoughts I have had recently.

1. "Ohs" are probably my favorite cereal in the world right now,That is really saying something cause I have eaten a lot of cereal in my time and a lot of it has been good. I think I like ohs because they are so mysterious, what is the good stuff in the middle. Is it oats is it gram is just a little bit of heaven. I just don’t know but it does make them really good. They are good dry wet or crushed on top of ice cream or some vanilla pudding. I’m not sure about tapioca pudding. No matter, how did they come up with something delicious I wish I could create something delicious. I think I did once when I made a peanut butter, chocolate chip and sprinkle sandwich it was delicious but not practical and really unhealthy for you. I also thought of a moist chocolate doughnut cereal I think it would be a great cereal I have received some ridicule for it. However I think it breaks the the mold that most cereals have fallen into, they would essentially just be really small doughnuts that fit in your cereal bowl absolutely amazing.

(I'm kind of on a doughnut kick)

2. doughnuts are great I could eat a doughnut everyday and I don’t think I would get fat. Do you think they had doughnuts in the garden of Eden, I bet they did cause they are absolutely a gift from god. Kind of like women is it wrong that I think women and doughnuts are both gifts from god in my mind. I think it is cause how could a person and a food be equal in my mind. But a doughnut is just so darn delicious and when they are both gone your are just left wanting more.

3. Whats the deal with cheese it is old milk, milk is delicious by itself and tastes so great, but old milk tastes so bad. Chesse however tastes great, what if there was a way to make my own chesse. What kind of machinery is involved in making cheese would I have get my own cow. I would name my cow flowers. Could I get my cow to follow me around. Or I could get a goat and name him Manny the goat he would be brown and white I could milk him. Oh wait boys don’t give milk so it would have to be Nanny goat because it is a girl, I would milk it and make my own cheese. I wonder how much cheese one goat could make that is a very interesting question I will have to Google that one.

4. What if God sent plagues again,(I know you bible scholars that this isn't going to happen but this is a what if) man that would be horrible. First I’m not a huge fan of locust they would be everywhere flying around making tons of noise and just being destructive. They would cause car accidents and planes would crash cause they would have to many in there engines, bad news. Boils oh those would be terrible I have never had a boil but I had a friend who did and when he showed it to me, "I was like ewww gross that is disgusting I never want that on me." So I think it is safe to say I wouldn’t handle that very well. Also the first born son thing that means I’m done I’m dead unless I paint blood on my door. Well blood makes me nauseous sometimes so who knows if I could even do that to save myself. Also the whole darkness thing I slept with a night light till I was eleven how can I be in the darkness for that long. I think I would be really scared. Also the water into blood would totally make me sick. I can’t drink blood!!! I don’t even like touching blood. I mean think of it I reach in to get water and splash it on my face and OOPS it is blood then I would start throwing up all over the place that would then mix the blood and throw up and that would just make me throw up more probably. I'm just not cut out for plagues or prison but that is a different thought all together. Maybe next time.
